ICANN regulations mandate a 60-day lock period after a domain is registered or transferred to prevent fraud and unauthorized movements. 

Domains under 60 days can only be transferred internally within the same registrar, not to a different registrar. 

For internal transfers: The recipient’s account details usually a username.

For external transfers: Domain unlock status and the authorization code (EPP code). 

An EPP code is a unique code required to authenticate and approve a domain transfer to another registrar.
